The CMMR post proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in their Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.
For the first time in the two-decade long history, Frontiers of Research on Speech and Music (FRSM) is privileged to join hands with International Symposium on Computer Music Modeling and Retrieval (CMMR) to hold the symposium in India. This will significantly increase the direct intercourse between researchers in Europe and those in India, particularly in the field of scientific research in music.
CMMR is organized every year to assemble researchers, educators, composers, performers, and others with an interest in important aspects of computer music (including modeling, retrieval, analysis, and synthesis) in different countries in Europe since 2003. It was held so far in Montpellier (France), Esbjerg (Denmark), CNR-Pisa (Italy), Copenhagen (Denmark), …(Spain). The post symposium proceedings were published by Springer. It is also for the first time that CMMR is venturing to hold the symposium in India jointly with FRSM on 2011.
FRSM is organised in different parts of India every year since 1991. Previously the symposium was held in the name of “International workshop on Recent Trends in Speech, Music and Allied Signal Processing”. Till date, these symposiums were held at Kolkata, Santiniketan, New Delhi, Varanasi,Kanpur, Lucknow, Gwalior, , Bhubaneswar Annamalai, Mysore and Thiruvananthapuram to promote research interest in these areas to researchers working in different fields like physics, mathematics, musicology, electronics and computer science.
The four-day joint International Symposium FRSM - 2011 and CMMR-2011 will be held at the Department of Computer Science, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar during 9-12 March, 2011. It will be co- organised by All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, Electronics Department, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Department of Computer Science, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Indian Institue of Technology, Kanpur and ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Gwalior.
Invited and some contributed papers related to speech, music, language and allied signal processing will be considered for presentation and publication. There will be three types of sessions, oral, poster and demonstration. There will be peer review of papers for oral presentation.
CMMR 2011 invites researchers, educators, composers, performers, and others with an interest in important aspects of computer music (including modeling, retrieval, analysis, and synthesis) to join us for a unique event.
CMMR 2011 is the eight event in this series.
- CMMR 2003, which was held in Montpellier, France in May 2003, was a great success and attracted high quality papers and prominent researchers from the field of computer music. The post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series (LNCS 2771).
- CMMR 2004, jointly organized by Aalborg University Esbjerg in Esbjerg, Denmark and LMA, CNRS in Marseille, France, was held in Esbjerg, Denmark, on May 2004. The CMMR 2004 post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series (LNCS 3310).
- CMMR 2005 "PLAY!", was co-organized by CNR-Pisa, Italy and LMA-CNRS Marseille, France ans was held in September 2005 at CNR-Pisa Italy. The CMMR 2005 post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series (LNCS 3902).
- CMMR 2007 "Sense of Sounds", jointly held with ICMC 2007, was co-organized by Aalborg University Esbjerg and LMA-CNRS Marseille, France and was held in August 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The CMMR 2007 post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series (LNCS 4969).
- CMMR 2008 "Genesis of Meaning in Digital Art", jointly held withNTSMB, was co-organized by Aalborg University Esbjerg (Denmark) and LMA-CNRS Marseille (France). It was held in May 2008 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The CMMR 2008 post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series (LNCS 5493).
- CMMR 2009 "Auditory Display", organized jointly with the 15th International Conference on Auditory Display (ICAD). It was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, May 18-22, 2009. The post symposium proceedings was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series beginning of 2010 (LNCS 5954).
- CMMR 2010. The 7th International Symposium on Computer Music Modeling and Retrieval was held in Málaga (Spain) on 21th-24th June 2010 and it was organized by the Application of Information and Communications Technologies Group (ATIC) of the Universidad de Málaga (Spain), together with LMA and INCM (CNRS, France) and AAUE (Denmark). The post symposium proceedings will been published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series beginning of 2011.
